To start with, what I have to say today pretty much has little to do with this outfit. Photographing looks for the blog still feels slightly awkward. If I’m honest, I’d say in the last year I dress so much more for myself in real life than I ever have before and when I try and translate that back over to the blog, it just doesn’t translate in a way that I feel comfortable. I could also say that I’m not in my ideal body right now also so perhaps that is a factor, but I promise as the days warm up and stay lighter i’m really hoping that they may kick start me showing more interesting and true to me style. So fingers crossed.
Whilst we are at clothing lets chat quickly about jeans. I was late to the high waist jean party. As a lady with a stomach (I put literally all my weight on my stomach and boobs only, its beyond annoying) and they made me worried that they would just show off that fat deposit a little too much. Like women all over the world I finally saw the light and although yes, a shame tuck means there is nothing I can hide, they are so much more comfortable then low rise ever where and better still they stand a chance at staying up! No more constant belts – thank heavens. So again, this last year the high rise or decently rised mid rise jean became my bestie, it started with regular blue jeans, moved onto ripped black and blue and now? I’m being a little brave for summer.
In the sale (of course) I’ve picked up two pairs of jeans to mix it up. The first are not so crazy, a high mid rise blue jean, the difference? They have a flowers design cut out around the bottom of the legs and I think for summer with a white shirt? its the casual dream and secondly I bought crazy jeans.
Remember quite a while back when the K-Dash’s wore lace up jeans? That’s right I’m bringing them back.
I think what I like is that they are kind of sexy? I rarely ever dress sexy, it doesn’t relate to me on any real level and most of the time I’m just the kooky dresser who occasionally does cute. It works for me, it’s fine but I like the idea of mixing it up. And perhaps before buying them I spent way too much watching the Kardashians and being inspired by their confidence. Of course I need them to arrive on my doorstep but here’s hoping that we might see something a little unusual this spring!
On my other hand, aka the broken side. Guess who slid her way into another broken bone two weeks ago? That’s right, that straight arm you see above here not so straight anymore! Although it is getting better! All I need is for you all to hope that this crazy snow this week doesn’t injure it any further!
What are your thoughts on lace up jeans, too far? Or not far enough?
